Want to be healthy and live longer? Move. The more someone does a sedentary lifestyle, which means more sitting, the shorter their age. This warning is presented to experts after conducting a study of more than 12,000 adults in America.
This means we must continue to be active and moving. "The message from this research is people should understand that all things are done every day has a consequence. If your job requires a lot of sitting, not what, but balanced with physical activity that expends energy," said Dr. Jay Brooks, a hematologist and oncologist.

However, no one has specifically looked at the relationship between mortality and the habit of sitting too long.
In a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, researchers analyzed responses to questionnaires completed by more than 123,216 people who have no history of disease. They participated in the Cancer Prevention Study II. The researchers followed the health of the respondent during the 14 years since 1993.
During the study, the majority of the participants died from heart disease than cancer. After considering various risk factors, including body mass index and smoking, women who spend six hours a day to sit down have a mortality risk 37 percent higher compared with peers who sit three hours.
Generally known to the people who sit too much and never exercise have a higher risk of death anymore, which is 94 percent in women and 48 percent in men. Regular exercise, even done for a while, will reduce the risk of dying from the habit of sitting long.
"The longer you sit, the less energy used. It is too long can cause obesity and the effect on metabolism," said Dr. Alpa Patel, an epidemiologist at the American Cancer Society.He added, muscular body, especially the leg muscles, if rarely used to stimulate or suppress some hormones that effect on triglycerides, cholesterol, which leads to an increased risk of heart disease.
